Orthoceras Peardrop Fossil | Curious Collection

Dimensions: Size varies from piece to piece but on average about 10 cm x 3 cm. The big image gives a good idea of this.

The top side is polished and rounded. The back is flat and not polished.

History

Orthoceras is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod restricted to Middle Ordovician-aged marine limestones of the Baltic States and Sweden. This genus is sometimes called Orthoceratites.
