📜 Library Borrowing Terms & Conditions
By becoming a borrowing member of our Pagan Library, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure a fair and respectful experience for all seekers who share in this sacred resource.
1. Eligibility
- Borrowing privileges are available only to paid library members.
- Members must be aged 16 or over, unless accompanied by a guardian with a valid membership.
2. Loan Period
- Members may borrow up to 2 books at a time.
- Each loan is for a period of 2 weeks.
- Extensions may be granted at our discretion, provided the book is not on hold for another member.
3. Borrowing Restrictions
- Some rare, antique, or fragile books are reference-only and cannot be borrowed. These are clearly marked and available for in-library use only.
- Members are responsible for ensuring books are returned in the condition they were borrowed.
4. Late Returns
- A gentle nudge will be sent after the due date.
- A late fee of £1 per book per week will be applied after a 3-day grace period.
- Continued failure to return books may result in temporary suspension of borrowing privileges.
5. Loss or Damage
- If a book is lost or returned damaged beyond reasonable wear, the member will be asked to: Replace the item with an identical or equivalent title, or Reimburse the library for the cost of replacement, as assessed by staff.
6. Membership Use
- Memberships are non-transferable and intended for individual use only.
- Please bring your membership card or confirmation when borrowing books.
7. Respect for the Space
- Treat the library and its contents as a sacred space.
- No food or open drinks in the reading area.
- Silence or low voices are appreciated to preserve the contemplative atmosphere.
8. Community Care
- All members are expected to treat fellow patrons, staff, and the space with respect and kindness.
- Disruptive behaviour may lead to a review or suspension of membership privileges.
By borrowing from the library, you honour the spirit of shared knowledge and communal stewardship. 🌙
